The truly devastating & indeed shattering experience is to know what is gonna come,
Being powerless to overcome it,
& not being able to stop the inevitable,
watching it slowly, but surely, wilting away,
& along with it,
losing the original 'I'm young, & I've got the whole world under my feet' spirit & confidence...
